This Month's Happenings at First

January 2019

  • Brotherhood Breakfast – On Saturday, January 5, men of all ages are invited to come and enjoy fellowship, breakfast, and a devotion as we celebrate the bond of Christian brotherhood.  The Breakfast will be served at 8am in the Fellowship Hall with a brief devotion to follow.  If you would like more information, contact our Brotherhood President, Eddie Price (789-5269) or Vice-President, Gil Plants (424-9062).
  • Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – On Sunday, January 20, during our morning worship service, we will join churches around the US in celebrating God’s gift of life by commemorating the many lives lost to abortion and by committing ourselves to protecting human life at every stage.
  • Discover First – Interested in learning more about FBC Paintsville?  Come be apart of our one day “Discover First” class.  This one-session, interactive class will cover topics such as “The Baptist Faith and Message,” our church covenant, the Cooperative Program, ministry and Sunday School information, and so much more!  This class is led by Bro. Seth in the Fellowship Hall, and is open to anyone.  The class will meet on Sunday, January 27, at 5:00pm.  Please sign up for the class on the sign-up sheet located on the bulletin board.  For more information, please call the church office or talk with Bro. Seth.
  • MOPS - Mothers, come find your fire at MOPS!  We gather for moms to share their hopes, fears, and insights, in a format that works with their schedules, that doesn’t neglect their faith nor their womanhood, their motherhood nor their purpose, their heart nor their mind.  MOPS meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday night (Jan. 10 & Jan. 24) from 5:30pm-7:30pm for moms and children, birth through school aged.
